It does match its name; named after the color red in French, Bar Rouge is decorated mostly in red, the color of seduction. Located in 18 on the Bund, it's known by its gorgeous view of Shanghai which you can see over the open roof top. Everyone here were dancing in trance, enjoying their drinks and the night of Shanghai.

Sitting in the middle of a pond, smack dab in People's Park, Barbarossa is a Shanghai institution and a favorite ladies' nightspot. Where else in Shanghai can you grab a hookah and duck outside to enjoy the park view? This Moroccan-themed location is celebrating its 5th anniversary at the end of April, so swing by and grab a drink on the porch underneath Barbarossa's silk tent.

This gloriously gaudy club designed by Japanese artist Mika Nakagawa takes tactile to new heights. A prominent windy staircase covered in roses leads from a small bar downstairs to the upstairs club featuring a stage at its center. With poles for dancing and an acrobatic hoop for shows.

This Mediterranean eatery features a selection of 130 wines and jazz performance on the weekends. With a convenient location on Sinan Lu, this is a nice little restaurant to enjoy some fusion food, a glass or two of vino and perhaps, even a good cigar afterward while drifting away with the music.

This is the recreation of an older hotel bar that once rocked the Shanghai scene in the early '90s. Find it tucked in the back of the Crowne Plaza hotel, complete with '20s film memorabilia and a house band. Cozy, happening bar, with a swinging, six-piece Filipino band from 9:00pm till late (Sunday is their night off).Charlie's features one of Shanghai's longest "Happy Hours," from 3:00pm- 9:00pm.

Club Hollywood is finally open in the heart of Shanghai after the great success in Patong Beach (Thailand) and it promises to be rich of surprises.Taking up residence in Mao’s old location, Hollywood Shanghai has made a few renovations to the former after-hours hangout. They’ve moved the DJ table to make it the central focus of the nightclub, with resident DJ Jobo oscillating between hip-hop, house and pop to serve the dance floor surrounding and VIP tables upstairs. With ¥70 cocktails, the bar stays open until the wee hours of the morning, promising to continue serving the party animals who like to stumble in late.

Come early for their happy hour, stay a bit later for some live music from their house band and then end the night with some dancing when the DJs hit the turntables with house, lounge and 80s music sets.
